Before we dive in, a quick heartbreaking update…

💔 No inClimate Dating

Last week’s announcement of inClimate dating was (unfortunately) an April Fools’ Day joke. After a weird Q1 I just felt like we all needed a bit of a laugh.

The landing page was intense, but that didn’t stop the excitement of people reaching out to me, congratulating us on the launch, and asking for early access.

While some of you have scrolled to the bottom of the last newsletter to see the April Fools’ disclaimer, 1800 people visited the landing page and concerned Founder friends were a little shocked by this pivot.

Folks in India also called for an Indian version of inClimate dating on LinkedIn inspired by our launch - that escalated quickly…

The sincere interest in this is noted and I can tell you that having a partner who also works in Climate is great, but for now, we are focusing on something else:

❤️ inClimate Matchmaking

We are planning to finally build member matchmaking this quarter. I am currently being everyone’s personal matchmaker for the first 200 paying community members, but that won’t work at scale of course.

Here’s my thinking so far to build this step by step to not over-engineer it from the start:

1. Build a simple roulette to randomly connect members for 1:1 coffee chats at a fixed time

2. Advance to rule-based matchmaking based on location, climate sector focus, and/or professional background

3. AI-based matchmaking that can read members’ bios and spot relevant keywords - ideally choosing the best timeslot and creating the calendar invite accordingly

4. Tinder-like swiping on climate jobs, members and companies

5. (Dating feature?)
